Asset Engineering Limited provided CM/GC services for Colorado Northwestern Community College to remodel and expand the 11,800sf Rector Science Hall. The project team provided preconstruction services, Value Design, alternates investigation and pricing, and construction services. Working closely with the Owner’s organization the project team was able to deliver the project on schedule and within budget. This project presented a challenge in utilizing the existing, outdated, and unattractive spaces and creating new spaces that met the needs of the Owner. The project created useful, attractive, well lit, and innovative classrooms, offices, and public space. This project included the construction of a new 120 seat tiered lecture hall, new general classroom, new faculty offices, and extensive renovation of existing classrooms, science labs, and restrooms.
Construction of the CNCC Rector Hall Renovation was completed ahead of schedule. The project schedule was evaluated daily, revised as needed, and distributed to the entire project team to ensure schedule compliance.
Cost reduction solutions were investigated to ensure that project function was maintained, while budget goals were met. Asset Engineering and Chamberlin Architects performed extensive preconstruction services on this project in order to help meet the owner’s requirements in schedule and budget. This project was completed within the Owner’s budget.
Construction of an attractive, high end multiuse educational facility that merged seamlessly with the surrounding mountain landscape was the goal in this project. High quality finishes and architectural elements added a professional and attractive appeal. Asset Engineering maintained a rolling punchlist throughout the project to ensure that the end result was mutually satisfying for all involved.
Asset Engineering was successfully able to complete this project with no disruptions to Colorado Northwestern Community College. Intensive consideration was given to the multiple cranes, trucks, and equipment required on this project. Subcontractors were briefed daily on safety, site access, and cleanliness. Site planning took priority as students, staff, and faculty continued to walk, drive, and park immediately adjacent to the project site. The Project Team made student safety and access their highest priority, always alert to students, faculty, and staff moving through the College campus.
The Rector Science Hall is a superior structure that exceeds the needs of this community college. This project was completed on schedule and within budget, allowing the Owner to present the Town of Rangely with a valuable addition to the community.
The construction of CNCC Rector Science Hall was completed in compliance of all industry standards, building codes, and by acceptance of all Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
